Women know that what gets men's attention fastest is S E X. When a woman sets her sights on a particular man, she puts extra time, energy, and money into looking her best for him. That means she does everything possible to look young, healthy, and sexy. Although strategies vary with each woman, the basic tactic is to look like she is the guy's most available horny female who yearns to be the immediate mother of his children. This seldom fails because in all men's DNA is millions of years of programming to make babies and pass-on their DNA in the next generation. That is what evolution of all the species is all about. Look at any man's naked body: it is clearly designed to be a breeding machine. Even though raising children may be absolutely the last thing a young, fun-loving, dedicated bachelor wants, his DNA is demanding that he try to make babies! Young men make 200 to 300 million sperm a day!
Evolution does not work to produce more bachelors! Evolution works to make babies. This was accomplished in the ancient past by horny men who spread their sperm widely in as many females as they could capture and carry off to the cave. Nature's trick was to make sex feel REALLY GOOD so men would stop killing animals or each other, and go looking for a woman to have some fun. Back in those days sex probably was the only fun thing one could do. Although women also liked that good feeling, there was usually great fear of getting pregnant and stuck with raising a kid for many years. So women have evolved a naturally built-in resistance to casually jumping into the bushes with a man for a quick roll in the grass.
This is where the eternal problem still exists between men and women. Men want sex now and they may or may not stick around even long enough to have breakfast. There is a lot of escapism in men's DNA from their millions of ancestors. Men were most successful in producing offspring by having a high quantity of sexual encounters with a lot of different young females. There is even historical evidence that more than a few slow-running animals did not escape the horny ancient man. Syphilis originally came from sheep, no doubt contracted by a horny sheep herder.
Women were most successful in producing offspring when they selected a man who would stick around to protect and feed her and the kids after the fun was over. Men's and women's strategies to get sex are so different it is a wonder our species didn't become extinct! Perhaps it was the caveman with the club used for foreplay that was the main reason we did not become extinct!
Today's woman is challenged to appeal to the right man and get him to stick around in a committed long-term relationship. Marriage is the most accepted practice in recent centuries. However, marriage is no guarantee of security for the woman and children.
In most western countries the men must court women and hope to get lucky, because it is the woman who will select which man she takes to bed, with or without marriage agreement.
