This educational content is designed to help you get the most out of your intimate relationships. By "relationship" we mean the dating, mating, and sex game -- that fun activity we spend so much energy on!
Answer: When they are in their 30's.
Alfred Kinsey, Ph.D., was the first to research and publish on this question. Kinsey discovered that women had more orgasms in their thirties than at any other time in their life-spans. The reason seems to be that women in their thirties often are more comfortable with their bodies and with their body responses, than when they were younger. Kinsey reported that women in their thirties are able to have more orgasms, more self-confidence, and a stronger sense of self-worth by this time.
Answer: A safe, caring and protective relationship.
What a woman looks for, at her deepest DNA level, is a man who is most able and willing to help take care of her and the offspring over the long term, and in the best way possible. This is true even for the woman not even consciously thinking about marrying and raising kids. It even exists in post menopausal women. This drive is mostly unconscious and is in women's DNA from millions of ancestors because that is what worked best for producing most offspring.
Women's DNA programming looks for protection, a sound relationship, and long term commitment before turning on the passion hormones. This scheme is what worked best for women's ancestors to make babies, and it is still strongly embedded in their DNA today. The most effective way for a guy to get to a woman's heart (and her bed) is by establishing a safe and protective relationship.
The quality and quantity of foreplay directed by the man is one indicator a woman uses to determine how much he really cares for her. Women read the lack of foreplay as, "He does not really care for me, all he wants is to use me to get his rocks off!" Women are all too often correct.
Answer: Their toes and/or ear lobes.
Why toes are sexy:
In the human brain, different areas are dedicated to each of our body parts. Large brain areas are required for more complex areas like our mouths and thumbs. The brain area that operates our feet in walking, running, and maintaining constant balance is rather large also. Interestingly, the foot area in the brain is right next to the part of the brain which controls our genitals. Since there is no sharp boundary line in the brain between areas, stimulating the toes and feet also feeds good sensations into the genital area of the brain!
Why ear lobes are sexy:
The ear area in the brain also is relative large and close to the brain genital area. Kensey's research found that some women reach orgasm by kissing and sucking on their ear lobes. The whole ear sometimes also blushes during emotional moments. No other animals have ear lobes. They appear to be solely evolved as sexual parts of the human body.
Answer: Her eye pupils are dilated (large), breathing is deep and fast, heart rate is rapid, nipples are hard, genitals get warm, moist, and swollen.
Although genital wetness for lubrication is normally the most noticeable indication of female sexual arousal, there are other even more reliable indicators. Some women take longer to produce vaginal lubrication so other indicators may be more dependable. And in some more mature women (we don't ever say "older"!) lubrication may not occur at all. The thoughtful guy brings his own brand for them.
The dark center of the eye, called the pupil, cannot be controlled consciously so it is an excellent and reliable broadcaster of emotions. Dilated (large) pupils indicate high interest and focus of attention. When making love, the pupils often are the first indicator of sexual arousal and reveal an expectation for sexual fulfillment. When the pupil is closed down to a small opening (when not in bright light) it indicates a lack of interest or something distasteful. Guys, if you see that happening, give up.
Answer: She is interested in the man and is signaling that she is being passive, and that she will not resist the man approaching her.
This looking down move is a classic body language cue used when flirting. Dropping her eyes down is in her DNA as an ancient body language cue saying that she will be passive and accept the person approaching her. She will do this unconsciously if she wants to get emotionally and physically closer to the person. While she is looking down, and waiting for the person to approach, she very likely will do some preening motions such as fluffing her hair, checking her nails, or fussing with her clothes. This means she wants to look good for the person approaching.
A woman who does not want a man's advances, and who does not want him to approach, will quickly disconnect eye contact and look to her LEFT or RIGHT. She will not look down if she wants to be left alone. Quickly looking left or right means she is not interested and definitely is not going to be passive if approached.
Often women also turn their upper body away to discourage a man from approaching. At their deep unconscious level they are hiding their breasts from view and saying, "You can't see that I am a woman. Do not approach me." Any clueless guy approaching a woman sending these negative body language cues is setting himself up for a harsh and painful rejection!
Answer: False.
Unfortunately, (and often tragically) sex drive in men and women has evolved differently. Most men's interest in sex remains strong from puberty up to senility and even beyond sometimes. Not so with women! Only approximately 20% of women age 50 have the same sex drive as they had at age 30. Women's more complex bodies shift hormones in mid-life. Perhaps this is to convert them from mothers to grandmothers in order to help the younger more healthy women care for their babies.
One researcher found that 20% of young women had higher sex drives than the average young man. He also found that the higher the women's sex drive, the more attracted to both sexes they were.
Some studies in Europe have found that the longer a woman remained in a relationship, the less her sex drive became. The same pattern of decreased sex drive was not observed in men. This may be one reason men so often "drift off" into other relationships to get sex after a period of faithful coupling.
Answer: Generally she stays healthier.
The overall statistics show that men and women sleeping together are healthier than those sleeping alone. Research has discovered over 200 chemical compounds in body fluids such as sweat, saliva, skin oils, and genital liquids. Both males and females appear to benefit as each partner breathes and swallows some of these chemicals from their partner during sexual activity. Women who sleep regularly with a man experience more normal menstrual cycles and fewer fertility problems. Men sleeping with a woman tend to live longer than men sleeping alone. (Guys, here is another great excuse to jump in her bed!)
Answer: armpits. (That is the answer here, but there may be other answers!)
Research found that blindfolded men were more sexually aroused by smelling a woman's armpit sweat than by smelling expensive commercial perfumes.
Women have more of the scent producing glands than men and the odor is different in women and men. The apocrine glands in the armpits don't develop until puberty, so they must be a part of the human sexual system. Associated with the apocrine gland development is armpit hair that probably was natures way of disbursing the attractive scent to men. Can't you just see the coy cave-woman casually raising her arms and adjusting the bone in her hair while making sure the nearby cave guy gets a good sniff!
What's wrong with this picture: modern woman is shown on TV shaving her armpits and covering them with anti-perspirant?
Answer: Rubbing her feet. (There are more answers to this question, too.)
Every body part has an area in the brain sensing and controlling that part. Some areas corresponding to body parts are huge because of the importance and complexity of that body part, such as the thumb and tongue. Each of these areas in the brain are huge compared to other body parts such as the thigh and back.
Because of the complex actions required to balance and walk upright, the feet have a relatively large area in the brain. Significantly, the feet area is right next to the area for genitals. Therefore rubbing the feet, especially with lotion, also sends some pleasing signals to the genital area in the brain, frequently with dramatic results.
A foot rub can be very sexual foreplay when done with attention to detail and sensitivity. An hour-long Oriental foot massage done sensually with warm water, salt first and followed by baking soda, then wrapped in a warm soft towel is almost orgasmic by itself!
Answer: About 3 out of every 4 times.
Wow! This question is one of the most researched questions since man learned to count more than his fingers and toes. If anything, it shows men are worried about their manly performance.
Most of the surveys have concluded that nearly all women at sometime produce a fake scream, groan or wiggle about 3 out of every 4 times when her partner is 'blasting off'. Approximately 5% to 10% of women never have an orgasm.
When most men are asked if their female sex partner has orgasms, men say, "Yes, every time!" Now either the men are lying to save their manly ego or their partner is very effective in faking it. About 10% to 20% of men said they have on occasion faked an orgasm so as to not hurt the woman's feelings. (Or to maintain their manly ego?)
Many women surveyed stated they could not have an orgasm with a man and his natural penis. However, with their own mechanical/electrical friends, women could have excellent orgasms and had no need to fake it. (Nor further need of a man?)
The main reason for faking an orgasm is to share the experience equally with the partner. Therefore no one needs to fake an orgasm when masturbating!
Answer: It increases bonding between partners.
Oxytocin is a neurotransmitter synthesized in the brain and released during orgasm. In both men and women oxytocin floods through the bloodstream to reorganize the nervous system for the evolutionary course ahead: raising children.
Oxytocin induces feelings of love and altruism, warmth, calm, bonding, tenderness and togetherness. It increases feelings of satisfaction during bodily contact and sexual arousal. Oxytocin released by the female orgasm helps women lie still for a while afterwards. This increases the likelihood of conception, as well as making it probable that women will seek further sex, if not then at least later. Men tend to go to sleep immediately after their release of sperm in the woman and oxytocin in their own body.
Without oxytocin to cause bonding of males and females in most species, it is likely there would be a high loss of offspring and perhaps even extinction in some species. The huge burden placed on pregnant females requires additional protection and resources that the male can best provide. Oxytocin is nature's way to see that he sticks around to protect her and child, and to raise the offspring.
Oxytocin is also released in a woman when breast-feeding her baby. This is nature's way of increasing bonding and insuring survival of the offspring.
Women have more oxytocin receptors than men and this may be one reason women are so caring and nurturing. This also may be the reason women love chocolate so much: chocolate contains a small amount of oxytocin.
Answer: Generally they take more interest to insure that they are more attractive to men. They use more jewelry, makeup, and display more bare skin than normally.
Research shows that women unconsciously do their best to be more attractive to men, even if married, during the time they are fertile. It is in their DNA to do so because in the past this had an evolutionary advantage: more offspring.
In one study, computer analysis found that ovulating women exposed more bare skin from their clothing. Of course they know what attracts a man most! UCLA studies show that women tend to dress up more when they're ovulating, even though they are not aware they're ovulating, nor do they want to get pregnant.
Women are one of the few mammals that does not openly signal when they are fertile, at least so openly that even a man can't miss her signal. However, it appears women are still trying to get men's attention during their fertile time. Women unconsciously advertise their fertility to all men even when they are in a committed relationships with a man. This may be one reason we humans have not become extinct.
Answer: Kissing.
Ninety percent of women surveyed claimed they did not get enough kissing. Women are highly stimulated by kissing, especially the deep type (French kiss). Kissing engages the sense of feel, taste, smell, and even the sound of groans are stimulating. Women like kissing before, during, and after sex. A high number of women said they would not have sex with a bad kisser.
Kissing is a physical activity that affects both the old brain limbic system and the new brain cerebral cortex. The old brain is where heart rate, breathing, perspiration and many other bodily functions are controlled. Most of these functions are devoted to survival and sex. This old brain center is revved-up by a kiss and starts unconscious preparations for the body to have sex.
A kiss most likely causes the female new brain cognitive centers to think about the romantic beauty of the moment and significance of the relationship at this point. The male new brain is most likely thinking about how good the female looks and feels naked!
Answer: Romance.
Lack of romance is a common complaint of most women. Women want romance with all the symbols of caring and valuing them. And they want it before, during, and after sex.
At a woman's deepest level is a fear that she will be just used and abandoned, and in the worst case, pregnant with a lifetime ahead of caring for his child. This fear is in women's DNA and is well founded from uncountable female ancestors' real experience.
Romantic courting of a woman by a man is really a selling job whereby he is trying to convince her that he won't be like all those other dirty guys who left her. A woman engaging in sex has a lot to loose if she picks the wrong guy. Her decision requires careful consideration.
Women have a need to build relationships with others. This need comes from women's ancestors who survived ice ages and predators only because they had help from other men and women bound to them in a good relationship. Women depended on relationships to carry them through the tough times, and there were many tough times back in prehistorical days. Lessons learned then became embedded in the DNA and still show up in daily behavior even though the ancient dangers are mostly gone.
Answer: Her lips, ear lobes and more!
Lips and ear lobes in both men and women swell with additional blood when they become aroused. (As well as other body parts!)
Full lips are one of the female features emphasized with makeup and even injections of silicone or one's own fat from other places on the body. Women know that men unconsciously recognize full lips as a sexual signal. The more sexual hormones a woman has, the more full her lips are. As men and women age, their lips become thinner as their sexual hormones decrease in later years.
